VILLA LES TOURS DE SABLE

MOROCCO - MOROCCO - MARRAKECH PALMERAIE - SLEEPS 2-10
SummaryFull DetailsArea GuideVirtual Tour
Villa les Tours de Sable is an exquisitely furnished and decorated luxury neo-Moroccan villa (5000sf) set in over two acres of lush walled gardens--entirely lawn--in one of the most prestigious quarters of the Palmeraie a few minutes outside old walled city of Marrakech: romantic views of the Atlas mountains and the Djebelettes in the distance.

The property may be taken exclusively for a private group but, at most times of the year, individual suites may be rented.

The property is located on a very quiet unpaved road in the Palmeraie not far from the main golf course: very high gates in a splendid arch open onto the long driveway which passes a large olive grove and leads up to the main entrance door; discreet parking for about six cars to the side of the villa.

The intricately carved cedar front door opens into a hallway with giant brass candlesticks, a wonderful view of the swimming pool area and garden, and a glass door opening into large white-marble arcaded patio with a beautiful white Indian marble fountain surrounded by intricate zellige floor tiles: views over the swimming pool area to the lawns and the palm trees.

Main living area (over 1000sf) comprising: winter salon with aubergine tadelakt walls and a generous seating area in front of an open fireplace; stunningly beautiful circular formal dining room with cupola ceiling, a magnificent hanging lantern from Fès, dark tadelakt walls, and an elegant square dining table; central area leading to a small summer salon, both areas with five very high picture windows looking out over the pool area; external covered salon with generous seating area around a round marble table looking out over the swimming pool.

Ground floor: Bahia bedroom (330sf) with domed ceiling, cumin-coloured tadelakt walls, double bed, en-suite shower bathroom with peach-coloured walls, walk-in shower, and Izmit rose marble floors, and private garden terrace.

Spiral tadelakt staircase to the first floor: hall; Zorha bedroom (300sf) with Bordeaux tadelakt walls, double bed, Indian sofa, red Agadir marble bathroom, and private terrace (250sf).

Sultan suite (700sf) with long walk-in dressing room, double bedroom with hanging brass lamp in the cupola ceiling and saffron tadelakt walls, salon with fireplace, bathroom with separate shower and WC, and private terrace (500sf).

Separate Pavillon: Saba bedroom (500sf) with double bedroom and en-suite bathroom with yellow marble and twin hammered copper vanities; interconnecting patio with large pots; Roxelane Suite (570sf) comprising salon with rugs from the High Atlas, Indian furniture, desk from China, and a green and blue chimney, double bedroom with green walls, and en-suite bathroom in blue tadelakt and green marble from Guatemala

The décor is an inspired blend of traditional materials with the volumes associated with modernity: the furnishings are an eclectic but wonderfully harmonious marriage of classic Moroccan, Indian, Burmese, and Turkish pieces--light, colour, and beauty are everywhere in this gorgeous home.

The villa is superbly equipped with unique high quality dinnerware, silver cutlery, and crystal glasses as well as fine household linen and bathrobes; air-conditioning throughout and, for winter, moucharabieh wooden lattice-covered radiators, satellite TV, CD player, stereo system, WIFI, and interphone are among the refinements of this elegant home.

The manicured grounds embrace: lawns covering the entire garden, flower beds, fig trees, giant palm trees, jasmine, bougainvilleas, orange trees, and ancient olive trees as well as a host of North African indigenous plants; magnificent 1000 square-foot blue lagoon-style swimming pool.

The villa is fully staffed: lady caretaker manager; accomplished cook creating Moroccan and fusion cuisine; two housemaids; four gardeners; masseuses or masseur, hairdresser, pedicure, and beauty-care expert on request.

All suites and bedrooms have a private terrace allowing different views of the majestic Atlas chain, the Djebelettes, and the Palmeraie; guests may take breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner in the privacy of their own terrace; at certain times of the year, suites may be booked independently, for periods of three days or more: rates are from around $750 per day inclusive of breakfast.

The Villa les Tours de Sable--arguably the most beautifully designed and furnished villa in the Palmeraie--is an architectural "tour de force": it offers a unique environment and is ideal for a family or a small corporate group seeking total peace and absolute privacy in supremely elegant, exotic, and comfortable surroundings within easy reach of the excitement of Marrakech and all the golf courses.
