July and August are quite busy – this is the height of the season after all – but, once on the peninsula, the crowds can be avoided: beaches are always accessible, and it's really quite simple – except on the two market days and early evening – to get to the village by back roads. Daytime visitors can be avoided by simply going in early.
September and October are delightful: it's temperate but warm enough for sunbathing; the crowds have gone although there are still quite a lot of people since Saint Tropez hosts the Polo Masters in September and, in October, the much-loved, classic yacht race, les Voiles de Saint Tropez.
